OFI has registered a Medical Device of class IIA for the treatment of acid reflux diseases (GERD – Gastro esophageal reflux disease) and its complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The device is an emulsion in a practical stickpack format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It performs an effective protective barrier action against gastric reflux to reduce symptoms as: esophagitis, acid reflux, heartburn and gastric pyrosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La formulazione si basa su Alginati e Sali di carbonato che lavorano in sinergia con una Miscela di polisaccaridi (MHW da Opuntia ficus indica) ed Estratto di Patate (Solanum tuberosum). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The formulation is based on Alginates and Carbonate salts that work in synergy with a Patented Mixture of polysaccharides\u00a0 (Opuntia ficus indica) and potatoes extract (Solanum tuberosum) . This natural product prevents the reflux of gastric content into the esophagus : in contact with the gastric acid, the alginate changes its physical state evolving in a gelled form of alginic acid which stratifies on the mucosa, while the bicarbonate releases carbon dioxide molecules. These ones are trapped in a swelling gel preventing acid and food reflux in the esophageal tract. The mucous-protective action, provided by Opuntia cladodes fibers, is widely documented by in vitro and in vivo\u00a0 studies:\u00a0 they\u00a0 exhibit\u00a0 an\u00a0 extremely\u00a0 high\u00a0 mucoadhesivity\u00a0 ability\u00a0 compared\u00a0 to\u00a0 other\u00a0 polymers\u00a0 such hyaluronic acid and chitosan, \u00a0 and they show a lenitive-antinflammatory activity evaluated on an in vitro human cell line. The potatoes extract takes under control the gastric pH in synergy with the carbonates salts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
