The fact that kids are highly unlikely to take pills makes gummy supplements something of a gift for parents!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advantage of chewing your daily nutrient and vitamins gummies isn\u2019t limited to not having to swallow a pill, either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gummies <strong>can be more easily absorbed by the intestines<\/strong> when they are chewed up into tiny pieces because there is more surface area for proteins to attach to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>Market share and growth worldwide<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gummy supplements have seen their share of supplements launches rise sharply in recent years as the popularity of supplements for preventative health care, particularly since the pandemic, has risen sharply and gummies have been presented as a more convenient, easier-to-consume option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the popularity of supplements in general, North America has led the growth of gummy supplements and accounted for 66% of launches in the second half of 2021. North America, Europe and Asia had a combined share of over 90%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vitamins\/minerals is the leading subcategory in terms of NPD, used for 35% of launches in the second half of 2021. It is losing share, however, as the subcategory broadens out into the mainstream, with rising share for botanical\/herbal supplements in second place, fruit\/vegetable concentrates in fourth and melatonin in fifth. There are variations by region, however, with vitamins\/minerals still dominant in Latin America, while North America has a much higher than average share for botanical\/herbal supplements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>Main claims and flavous<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Immune health is by far the key claim for NPD, reflecting its popularity in supplements as a whole. Also in line with supplements and indeed the food and drinks industry as a whole, the use <strong>of immune health claims<\/strong> has been boosted by demand generated by the pandemic. The use of <strong>skin health claims<\/strong> and <strong>energy<\/strong> <strong>&amp; stamina claims<\/strong> is also rising significantly, perhaps reflecting the wider targeting of gummy supplements to all consumer groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When the gummy supplements market started to develop, it was largely targeted at children<\/strong>, offering an easier consumption method, but this benefit is <strong>now being offered to all ages<\/strong>, tending to reduce the number of products targeted specifically at children in the developed regions, although in less developed markets, such as Asia and Latin America, there is still a strong focus on children\u2019s products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flavors for NPD are very heavily <strong>fruit oriented<\/strong>, with the current favorites continuing to focus on <strong>berries<\/strong> (strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and elderberry, as well as mixed berries) and <strong>citrus<\/strong> (mainly orange and lemon). There is also growth in <strong>mixed fruits<\/strong>, including tropical fruits, peach, apple and mango.
